How can I get involved?

There are many ways to help those in our community who are without permanent shelter.

Day Shelter Volunteer

Day Shelter volunteers welcome guests, facilitate shower schedules, interact with guests (playing games, chatting, etc.), help with cleaning, donation organization, and more.

Meal Provider

Prepare a meal for guests. If you would like to stay and help serve the meal, you are welcome to do so.
Please note that we're looking for volunteers to provide lunches on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. (We have several great restaurants that donate to us, but these days are not covered by those restaurants.)

Other Needs

We are always looking for people who have a heart for serving and would love to chat with you about unique ways you or your organization could support the ongoing work of Out of the Cold. Email us at info@outofthecoldcc.org and let's find the perfect area of service for you.

Evening Host

from 6:30-9:30 pm:  Evening hosts help with check in, serving dinner, facilitating showers and laundry (if provided at shelter), interacting with guests (playing games, chatting, etc.), cleaning and more.

Make a Donation

See our item donation needs list below.
Thanks to the strong support of our community, we purchased our building at 318 South Atherton! Now we are fundraising to renovate the space and hire additional staff, working toward our goal of a full-time, permanent shelter in downtown State College.
